Activities of Second UN Global Road Safety Week
Take a picture or video walking to school, work, or simply your favorite walk in that short ride to the corner store. Uniting each short walks, we got a long walk for road safety into all corners of the world.
It is a global initiative sponsored by road safety professionals from around the world as one of the main activities of the Week. Is an initiative of Zenani Mandela Campaign, in memory of Zenani Mandela, Nelson Mandela’s great-granddaughter, who died in a traffic accident at the age of 13 in 2010.
This campaign aims to prioritize the safety of all walkers. The initiative aims to ensure that pedestrian safety is a new goal of sustainable development worldwide.
WALKING IS HEALTH:
We are all pedestrians: on any given day, we choose to walk to and from our various destinations or – at a minimum – we begin and end most trips on foot.
