Many of them end up in jail and that is why we also participate in restorative circles.<\/p>\n<p>Restorative justice practices can contribute to the rehabilitation of victims and offenders involved in traffic crimes, being a benefit to both and to society in general.<\/p>\n<p>After a traffic accident with serious consequences, a complex and painful process begins for both parties, the victim and the aggressor. Often the long administrative and judicial processes do not allow a meeting between both parties that would avoid secondary victimization and favor the closing of the circle.<\/p>\n<p>Since 2015, victims of traffic, together with the psychologist from the P(A)T association, have met with inmates for crimes against road safety in restorative circles inserted in the &#8220;Hora punta&#8221; program at the Lledoners prison.<\/p>\n<p>Yolanda Domenech explains the experience:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Os pod\u00e9is imaginar que para un padre o una madre que ha perdido un hijo por la imprudencia de un tercero, no es nada f\u00e1cil ponerse delante de alguien que est\u00e1 en la c\u00e1rcel por un delito de tr\u00e1fico.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Por lo tanto, hay que tener en cuenta que no todas las v\u00edctimas est\u00e1n preparadas para participar. Es necesario una madurez emocional importante, para no juzgar, para poner\u00a0 perspectiva.Es necesario haber cerrado el proceso personal de duelo y en estos casos, puede significar a\u00f1os.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Y adem\u00e1s creo importante poner en valor que es de una generosidad extraordinaria, no solo porque lo hacen de una manera voluntaria y altruista, sino sobre todo porque\u00a0 exponen una parte muy \u00edntima de su historia personal.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Cada encuentro es diferente y espont\u00e1neo y los temas que salen nacen fruto de cada experiencia, pero habitualmente seguimos una estructura en forma, podr\u00edamos decir de di\u00e1logo circular, es decir, escuchamos a los internos, luego las v\u00edctimas explican brevemente su experiencia personal y luego empezamos el debate.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">El objetivo es construir puentes que impliquen alternativas al odio, al dolor, a la desesperaci\u00f3n, a la marginaci\u00f3n y que favorezcan el cambio de actitudes y la modificaci\u00f3n de la conducta. Cuando esta transformaci\u00f3n es real, pueden convertirse a su vez en agentes de cambio para contribuir a la construcci\u00f3n de una movilidad m\u00e1s segura y saludable y comprender que las normas sirven para mejorar la convivencia de todos.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We are convinced of the effectiveness of points recovery courses, but we also know that there is a percentage of drivers who do not get the message: repeat offenders.
