{"id":12417,"date":"2022-06-03T13:17:36","date_gmt":"2022-06-03T11:17:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pat-apat.org\/?p=12417"},"modified":"2022-06-17T10:19:12","modified_gmt":"2022-06-17T08:19:12","slug":"work-groups-prevention-and-awareness-for-motorists","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pat-apat.org\/en\/work-groups-prevention-and-awareness-for-motorists\/","title":{"rendered":"WORK GROUPS: PREVENTION AND AWARENESS FOR MOTORISTS"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>At the beginning of the 90s, the Catalan Institute of Road Safety was created, the predecessor of the current Servei Catal\u00e0 de Tr\u00e0nsit.<\/p>\n<p>At that time, the president of P(A)T was Eduardo Carbonell, a psychologist dedicated to teaching and professional training, who proposed on behalf of P(A)T to the Catalan Institute of Road Safety to complete the training of driving school teachers. (currently the so-called \u201croad trainers\u201d) with matters not only of the highway code but also accident prevention and risk reduction.<\/p>\n<p>The Institute was directed at that time by Jos\u00e9 Lu\u00eds Pedragosa and a group was created to work on this training in which, among others, Maria Farners de Cruz (currently responsible for education at the SCT), Let\u00edcia de Bartolomeo (educator and collaborator of the institute ), and Eug\u00e9nia Dom\u00e9nech (member of the board of directors of P(A)T and specialist in transport and road safety).<\/p>\n<p>In this way, the first For-For was created for driving school teachers who completed the training with road safety and driving risk prevention subjects.<\/p>\n<p>From there, the training of trainers was born, which has continued to evolve until reaching the ROA methodology, currently led by FORMACI\u00d3.<\/p>\n<p>Since then, P(A)T continues to be linked to road education and training and has continued to collaborate and participate in the training of trainers, with the driving school federation and in different training and awareness programmes, road education, or recovery of points.<\/p>\n<p>At the 30th ADEVIC Technical Conference and the 14th FETEVI State Conference, Yolanda Dom\u00e9nech (director), Vicente S\u00e1nchez (president), Pere Joan Pujol (Girona delegation), Ketty Morilla (M\u00e1laga delegation), Enrique Rodr\u00edguez (president AP( A)T) and Rafael Cer\u00f3n (Girona delegation) participated in different groups to create training and dynamics to standardize the ROA structure and methodology for road trainers throughout Spain.<\/p>\n<p>In order to develop future training programs to promote motorcyclist safety, we focus on attitudes, beyond skills, which will constitute the fundamental pillar of learning.<\/p>\n<p>It was a collaborative effort in which experts from different disciplines worked together to develop the programs. There was involvement, debate, reflection, passion and fun. Let&#8217;s hope that all this translates to the result and that we learn that in driving we have to take care of each other or, in other words, in mobility we also have to create a team.<\/p>\n<p>We are left with the phrase of the conclusions of Maite Ca\u00f1amares: &#8220;great results are only obtained when there are solid reasons to make the effort that must be made to achieve it&#8221;.
